Mercedes is showcasing the Euro-spec 2016 Mercedes E Class (W213) at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show today. It made its world premiere at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show.
Compared to the outgoing model, the new E Class is 43 mm longer with a length of 4,880 mm and has a 65 mm longer wheelbase of 2,874 mm. The all-new model has a drag coefficient value of 0.23 cd, which is the lowest in its class. Some of the features available include MULTIBEAM LED headlamps with 84 individually controlled LEDs each, an optional digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch high-resolution display, all-new COMAND Online infotainment system with touch-sensitive Touch Control Buttons on the steering wheel and another 12.3-inch high-resolution display, Qi wireless charging and Burmester 3D surround sound system with 23 speakers.
Under the hood, the Mercedes E-Class will be available with a choices between two petrol and two diesel engines, as well as a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Initially, only two models will be available for sale – E 200 and E 220 d. V6-powered models such as the E 350 d and E 400 4MATIC will follow later. A 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission is standard in all models.
