Gains two new infotainment systems.
Originally introduced at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, the VW Up! has been given a mid-life facelift and will be launched in the updated version this year. The public premiere of the Up! facelift has taken place at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show today.
Up front, the 2016 VW Up! features new headlights with LED daytime running lights, new grille design and restyled bumper. The foglamps have incorporated cornering lights. At the sides, the new door mirrors feature integrated turn indicators. The rear-end has been updated with a restyled bumper, new taillight graphics and addition of a chrome strip on the tailgate.
Inside, the 2016 VW Up! gets new colours and decors for the dashpad, new seat designs, multi-function steering wheel, Pure Air Climatronic (automatic air conditioning) featuring air quality sensor and biogenic filter, two new generation infotainment systems – Composition and Composition Phone, and a 300 watt Beats Audio sound system (Up! beats only).
The 2016 VW Up! is the company's second model after the VW Golf TSI BlueMotion to pack a 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine. The 3-pot engine produces 66 kW (90 PS) and 160 Nm of torque. It is also worth noting that this is the first turbocharged engine powering the VW Up!. With the new engine, the Up! can do 0-100 km/h in 10 seconds and hit a top speed of 185 km/h. Fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are rated at 22.73 km/l and 102 g/km respectively.
