SsangYong's first all-new model after Mahindra acquired majority of its stake.
First revealed in December 2014 and launched globally last year, the SsangYong Tivoli has made its Indian debut at Auto Expo 2016. The company's first global sub-compact crossover and first all-new model to be launched following the acquisition of a majority of its stake by Mahindra in March 2011, is expected in India this year.
Based on an all-new monocoque platform, the SsangYong Tivoli sub-compact crossover is available with two engines: e-XGi160 and e-XDi160, and two drivetrain configurations: front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Transmission choices for both engines include 6-speed manual and Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic. The vehicle measures 4.2 m long and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.
The e-XGi160 is a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine good for 126 PS (124 hp) and 16.0 kg-m (157 Nm) of torque, while the e-XDi160 is a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 115 PS (113 hp) and 30.6 kg-m (300 Nm) of torque.
Noteworthy features of the SsangYong Tivoli include projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, rear spoiler, engine start-stop system, cruise control, dual zone climate control, heated front seats and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
