Will be the first mid-size SUV from Skoda.
Ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Skoda unveiled the Skoda VisionS Concept, which previews Skoda's first mid-size SUV. Drawing cues from the concept, X-Tomi has created a new rendering of the SUV, which is rumored to be called Skoda Kodiak.
The Skoda Kodiak will share the MQB platform and internals with the second generation VW Tiguan, which was recently showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. As seen in the Vision S Concept, the Kodiak will adopt Skoda's latest design language, characterized by angular lines, long butterfly grille and sleek headlamps.
Expect the Kodiak to be equipped with features such as bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, Columbus and other infotainment systems based on Volkswagen Group’s MIB technology (Modularer Infotainment-Baukasten) with satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and Canton sound system.

Engine lineup could be sourced from the VW Tiguan, which includes a lineup of 2.0-liter TSI and TDI engines with power outputs ranging from 150 PS (148 hp) to 240 PS (237 hp). An AWD system could be standard in top-end grades of the Skoda Kodiak.
The production-spec Skoda VisionS will make its debut in H2 2016. An Indian launch could take place, given the new affinity to mid-size SUVs.
