RushLane reports that the Royal Enfield Himalayan will be available for test rides for prospective customers at dealerships starting next month.
Ahead of its launch, the company has planned a 10 day tour that started on February 12, covering major cities across the country including Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata and Noida, as a marketing campaign. The model will go on sale expectedly in the middle of next month, by when its price will be announced.
The RE Himalayan is powered by an all-new 411 cc air-cooled single-cylinder SOHC carbureted engine with an oil-cooler, that produces 24.5 bhp of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of peak torque between 4,000 and 4,500 rpm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Expected to be priced between INR 1.65 lakhs and INR 1.85 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Himalayan would be positioned beneath the Royal Enfield Classic 500 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT.
