Based on the third generation Nissan X-Trail the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid made its Indian debut at Auto Expo 2016. The company announced that the Hybrid vehicle will be the one of the two all-new products to be launched in 2016.
The Nissan X-Trail Hybrid measures 4,640 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,715 mm in height, and has a 2,705 mm long wheelbase.
Based on the CMF – C/d version of the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF (Common Module Family) platform, the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid is available exclusively in 5-seat seating configuration, and rivals the Honda CR-V and the Hyundai Santa Fe in India. The hybrid system combines a 2.0-litre MR20DD petrol engine that produces 108 kW (147 PS/145 hp) and 207 Nm of torque and RM31 electric motor that generates 30 kW (41 PS/40 hp) and 160 Nm of torque.
The hybrid system sends power to the wheels via XTRONIC continuously variable transmission. The hybrid variant’s fuel economy is rated at 20.6 km/l (JC08 mode) for front-wheel drive drivetrain layout and at 20.0 km/l (JC08 mode) for all-wheel drive drivertrain layout.
