Capitalizing on the success of the recently launched Mahindra KUV100, Mahindra has showcased the Mahindra KUV100 Xplorer edition at the Auto Expo 2016.
The Xplorer version of the KUV100 gets a host of body cladding from the front to the rear. Up front, found on the swept back section of the headlamps is a 'KUV100 Xplorer' badge and side decals. More black cladding can be found on the roof rails, front airdams, to contrast with the grey bottom lips. The grey treatment extends to the side skirts and the rear bottom lip as well, with the bumpers getting new elements.
The KUV100 Xplorer also gets fresh black body cladding on the taillight cluster. The previously blacked out border of the rear windshield has now been fitted with cladding as well. While the regular KUV100 gets a single centrally mounted brake light at the top of the rear windshield, the KUV100 Xplorer edition adds a split brake light that is integrated into the roof spoiler.
The production Mahindra KUV100 is available with two mFalcon engines: a 1.2-litre G80 petrol unit that produces 82 bhp and 115 Nm of torque and a 1.2-litre D75 diesel unit that produces 77 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. ARAI has rated the fuel economy of the petrol and diesel models at 18.15 km/l and 25.32 km/l respectively.
The company hasn't announced launch details for the KUV100 Xplorer edition.
