Isuzu Motor India at the Auto Expo 2016 unveiled the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. The Japanese manufacturer has confirmed that the V-Cross will be manufactured at its facility in Sri City, near Chennai, and launched in the second half of 2016. The company has given a pre-launch price of INR 15 lakh for the V-Cross (Ex-showroom, Chennai).
The V-Cross 4×4 is powered by a four-cylinder VGS Turbo Intercooled diesel engine that is BS-IV compliant. The 2,499 cc engine makes 134 hp at 3,600 rpm and peak torque of 320 Nm between 1,800 and 2,800 rpm. The diesel engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Apart from projector headlamps, at the front is a disc brake setup, while the rear only gets drum brakes. A double wishbone coil spring suspension setup supports the front, and the rear gets a standard leaf spring setup.
The V-Cross also gets the company’s new iGRIP – Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform – and a dial type shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob. While the company hasn’t announced any variants, the model on display gets ABS, EBD, and dual front airbags. On the inside, the pickup truck gets automatic AC, steering mounted audio controls, electro-luminescent meters with multi information display and rear seats that split 60:40. The rear seats also get ISOFIX setup for child seats.
