Is Fiat's new entry-level model in India.
Fiat is using the Fiat Linea's strategy of concurrently selling the pre-facelift model (Fiat Linea Classic) with the facelifted model for the Fiat Punto. The Fiat Punto Evo's pre-facelift version has been re-launched in India at the Auto Expo 2016 as the 'Fiat Punto Pure'.
The Fiat Punto Pure will be available both petrol and diesel engines, priced from INR 4.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and INR 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre FIRE unit that produces 68 PS at 6,000 rpm and 96 Nm of torque at 2,5000 rpm. The diesel engine is a 1.3-litre MultiJet unit that develops 76 PS at 4,000 rpm and 197 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Both seem to be the same engines offered in the Fiat Punto Evo and are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Fiat Punto Pure is very basic in terms of equipment. The company's new entry-level offering features ABS in the top trim level but doesn't get airbags. Steel wheels are standard across the range, though the display car had alloy wheels, while the body fittings are not body coloured.
