The Aprilia SR 150 will be manufactured in India, at Piaggio’s facility in Baramati, Maharashtra.

Speaking to the publication, Stefano Pelle, CEO of Piaggio India, said “Piaggio India is once again set to carve out a new category in the premium two-wheeler segment with the Aprilia SR150.” The model is touted as a crossover scooter offering the features of a sport bike and the convenience of a scooter.

The Aprilia SR150 will be produced locally, at Piaggio’s plant in Baramati, Maharashtra, using the same engine as on the Vespa 150. The ‘sports-scooter’ is powered by the 154.4 cc air-cooled single-cylinder carbureted engine with three valves, tuned to produce 11.55 PS at 7,000 rpm and 11.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm, mated to a CVT.
