2016 Skoda Superb launched in India at INR 22.68 Lakhs – IAB Report [Updated]

Available in two grades: Style and L&K.

Skoda India has launched the third generation Skoda Superb for sale in India, after much teasing and hype, prices for the new flagship sedan start from INR 22.68 Lakhs for the base Style grade to INR 29.36 Lakhs for the top-end L&K grade (both ex-showroom Mumbai).

2016 Skoda Superb front three quarter launched in India

The new Superb will be the second product for Skoda India to feature the company’s latest design language, first being the Skoda Octavia. Exterior features include Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED DRLs, 18 inch alloy wheels, LED taillamps, power-operated boot release, parking assist and a sunroof.

Inside, the flagship Skoda will be equipped with a plethora of premium features such as adaptive dampers with 3 driving modes, 12 way power-adjustable front seat with memory and lumbar support, triple-zone climate control, 6.5-inch Smartlink infotainment system, and a 12 speaker CANTON audio system.

2016 Skoda Superb dashboard launched in India

The Skoda Superb will be the fourth product to be based on VAG’s MQB platform in India, others being the Audi TT, Skoda Octavia and Audi A3. It is 75 kg lighter than its predecessor, despite growing 80 mm in wheelbase, 47 mm in width and 28 mm in overall length.

It is available with a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine capable of producing 180 PS and 320 Nm with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and 250 Nm with a 7-speed DSG. Also on offer is a new 2.0-litre TDI motor capable of 177 PS and 350 Nm of torque, which is paired to a 6-speed DSG transmission only.
