Expected to launch in India this year.
Jaguar Land Rover India is showcasing the 2016 Jaguar XF at the Auto Expo 2016 today. The new XF is expected to launch in India this year.
Compared to the outgoing model, the front fascia bears a larger mesh grille, bigger air intakes, contoured bonnet and projector headlights with revised LED DRLs. The flanks feature a redesigned fender vent, new alloy wheels, sharp shoulder line and the obvious 51 mm increase in wheelbase.
The posterior has XE-style LED tail lights, boot-lid spoiler and dual exhaust pipes. The 2016 Jaguar XF is also 190 kg lighter than its predecessor thanks to its aluminum-intensive iQ architecture.
The interior bears resemblance to the entry-level Jaguar XE sedan. Jaguar says that the overall quality of materials in the cabin has also been improved. The model featured comes with a regular dual-pod instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch InControl Touch infotainment display. The audio system can be spec'd with an optional 828 Watt 17 speaker system by Meridian.
The 2016 Jaguar XF sold in other markets is available with a total of four engines – three diesel and one petrol. The entry-level engine is a 2.0-liter ‘Ingenium’ diesel unit that comes in two tunes of 163 hp / 380 Nm and 180 hp / 430 Nm.
Top-end diesel variants will have a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 under the hood capable of 300 hp and 700 Nm of torque. The petrol version will source power from a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 generating 380 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The 8-speed automatic transmission is the gearbox of choice with the 163 hp diesel unit also having the 6-speed manual gearbox option.
