Could be introduced as a model year update.
AutoColumn has snapped a VW Vento factory vehicle with a new headlight cluster on test. The headlight clusters sport integrated LED daytime running lights, similar to that of the VW Jetta facelift. VW India could offer this feature as a model year update on the Vento, which received a facelift back in June 2015.
Another possibility is that the Vento on test could be an export-spec model, thus the LED daytime running lights could be offered exclusively for certain export market(s). VW India exports cars to 35 countries, and the Vento is the most exported product (also sold as Polo Sedan in certain markets).
There are no other changes observed on the test vehicle. To recap, the exterior of the Vento gets a triple-slat chrome grille, a redesigned hood, chrome highlights for the bumper and bootlid, LED taillights and a new alloy wheel pattern.

Inside, the sedan is equipped with a multifunction steering wheel, a 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth compatibility, electrically-adjustable and folding wing mirrors, cruise control and leather seats. Indian buyers have the option of choosing between a 1.6-liter MPi petrol engine, a 1.2-liter TSI petrol and a 1.5-liter TDi diesel engine. A 7-speed DSG is available on the TSI as standard, and on the TDi as an option; a 5-speed manual is standard.
