UM Renegade Commando, UM Renegade Sport S teased – IAB Report

The UM Renegade Commando and the UM Renegade Sport S models have been teased by the company before their premiere at the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida on February 3. Both cruisers will be launched at or shortly after the exposition.

The UM Renegade Commando would compete with the Bajaj Avenger 220 while the Renegade Sport S will rival the upcoming Hyosung Aquila GV300.

The UM Renegade Commando would be the entry-level model while the Renegade Sport S will be the flagship offering. A third model in the Renegade family would be introduced in the Indian market a few months later. Speaking to IndianAutosBlog, Mr. Juan Villegas, the Global Director for Business Development, UM International LLC, revealed that the company plans to launch three models every year for the first three years in India, all of which will be cruisers.

The Renegade Commando is expected to be offered with a 223 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 18 hp and 15.5 Nm, and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Internationally the motorcycle is available with a 150 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine as well, which generates 16.55 PS and 14.14 Nm.

The Renegade Sport S which was unveiled at the 2015 EICMA in Milan is powered by a 279 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It has a peak power and torque output of 26.6 PS and 22.76 Nm respectively.
