Apache series to continue only with street fighters.
Speaking to IndianAutosBlog, Vinay Harne, Head of R&D at TVS Motor Company, said that the company has no intention to develop a semi- or fully-faired version of any TVS Apache variant. The R&D team elaborated saying TVS has a specific customer base which is best catered to with naked street fighters.
When asked about TVS' intention to address the touring community (which is perceived to be growing across the country) by developing a specific model or making the Apache more touring friendly, officials said that the Apache was the highest growing motorcycle brand in its segment in the last quarter, suggesting that the company is on the right track and will continue to the existing product strategy of developing racing-based variants.

The officials cited the Apache's increasing presence even when asked about TVS' plan to develop a sports-tourer or an adventure-tourer (which is perceived to be a growing segment). "TVS is known for the specific flavour of motorcycling the Apache RTR has been offering and the company does not intend to deviate from that", one official said.
