Receives visual upgrades in the form of gloss black touches.
Mercedes-Benz had showcased the Mercedes G500 Rock Edition at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show last April. The Rock Edition is basically a G-Class with visual enhancements.
Changes are instantly visible on the outside. The iconic off-roader has received the gloss-black treatment to the front and rear bumpers, wheel arches, five twin-spoke alloys and the roof. The interior has an all-black look with only the seats getting a two-tone layout. The dashboard and the seats are upholstered in leather with contrasting red stitching.
The cabin is further decorated by the use of metallic and gloss-black accents that are seen adorning the four-spoke steering wheel, instrument cluster and center console. A free standing display for the infotainment system is located on top of the center console with the drilled aluminum pedals being another interesting detail.
Under the hood of the Gelandewagen rests the 5.5-liter V8 petrol engine that has an output of 382 hp and peak torque figure of 530 Nm that is relayed to all four wheels through a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
