The Ignis is expected to launch in the festive season period this year.
The forthcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza will reportedly be sold from Maruti's regular dealerships and not the NEXA outlets. Instead, next-in-line for the flagship NEXA dealerships will be the Maruti Ignis and an updated version of the Maruti Ciaz, reports the Economic Times.
The Ignis had its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2015. The "compact crossover" measures 3,700 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width, and 1,595 mm in height, while offering 4WD as an option in the Japanese market. Based on the concept iM-4, the Ignis features an all-new interior design for Suzuki while offering a free-standing touchscreen entertainment system, a slimmer multi-function steering wheel, and an all-new instrument cluster.
When launched in India during the festival season of 2016, the Ignis will be powered by the K-Series 1.2-liter petrol engine and possibly Maruti's 0.8-liter two-cylinder DDiS diesel engine. It will be positioned beneath the Vitara Brezza, and as a rival for the Mahindra KUV100.

The Ciaz on the other hand was launched in India back in October 2014. Maruti could introduce an updated model with minor cosmetic and feature upgrades, once the sedan is 2 years into its lifecycle. Maruti has about 95 NEXA outlets at present, and aims to add 100 more in the coming 12 months.
