Maruti Baleno launches in Goa – Report

Arrives 3 months after the national launch.

The Maruti Baleno is now available for sale in Goa, around three months after it was launched in the country. Prices extend from INR 5,86,843 for the 1.2 Sigma to INR 9,39,465 for the top-end 1.3 DDiS Alpha (on road prices) reports GoaOnWheels.

The  arrival of the Maruti Baleno was delayed in the Goan market as there was no NEXA showroom, up until recently when Sai Service opened one in Porvorim, Goa.

Based on a new platform, the Maruti Baleno measures 3,995 mm long, 1,500 mm tall, 1,745 mm wide and 2,520 mm in wheelbase. The ground clearance is set at 180 mm, and it comes with 16-inch alloy wheels in top-end trims. A total of seven colors is offered on the premium hatchback which has received 70,000 bookings in the country.

Top-end grades of the Baleno are equipped with ABS, EBD and dual front airbags (standard on all grades), LED daytime running lights, HID headlights, reverse camera, automatic climate control, smart entry with push button start, a 7-inch touchscreen SmartPlay entertainment system with Apple CarPlay, and steering-mounted audio and phone controls.

The Baleno’s engine lineup includes a 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine that develops 84.3 PS and 115 Nm of torque, and is available with a choice of a 5-speed manual and a CVT. The diesel option is the 1.3-liter DDiS unit that makes 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
