Will be available with a new 2.5L EcoTec petrol engine.
A mid-life facelift is planned for the Chevrolet Trailblazer this year, which is under development in Brazil, as seen in the spy shots that surfaced last week and another set of spy shots published this week.
Noticias Automotivas speculates that the Chevrolet Trailblazer 2016 will get the North American-spec Chevrolet Colorado‘s face, and has previewed it with a rendering created by their automotive illustrator Jonathan Machado.
Along with the updated front fascia, the facelifted model will also have tweaked tail lamps and rear bumper. The interior should likely be more or less the same, with the changes limited to updated MyLink infotainment system and new seat upholstery and trim.
The 2.5-litre Duramax diesel engine that produces 120 kW (163 hp) and 380 Nm of torque, the 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine that produces 147 kW (200 hp) and 500 Nm of torque and the 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine that produces 277 hp and 357 Nm of torque will likely continue being offered. Additionally, reports say, a new 2.5-litre EcoTec petrol that churns out 202 hp and 259 Nm of torque will also be available.
Transmission and drivetrain layout choices of the 2016 Chevrolet Trailblazer should include the 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive respectively. The mechanicals of the SUV may not go through many revisions as updates were given to the suspension, gearbox and the petrol engine in the previous update in late 2014.
