Gets driver airbag as standard throughout the range.
Hyundai India has dropped new images of the 2016 Hyundai i20, which has been upgraded to include new features. It will be showcased in the metal at the Auto Expo 2016 which opens to the press on February 3.
The most noticeable upgrade is the projector headlamps with cornering lights and LED DRLs, which are standard in the top-end i20 Asta (O) grade. Up until now, this feature was only available in the Euro-spec Hyundai i20 and the Indian-spec Hyundai i20 Active. The other big upgrade is the inclusion of a driver airbag as standard throughout the range, while a front passenger airbag is added to grades up and above Sportz.
While the lower grades gets a music system with an LCD display, the top-end Asta (O) of the 2016 Hyundai i20 features an Audio Video Navigation system with a 7.0-inch display. Bluetooth telephony continues to be standard in Magna and above grades.
Under the hood, the Hyundai i20 continues to offer the 1.2-litre petrol Kappa engine with VTVT and a five-speed manual gearbox, and a 1.4-litre U2 diesel motor with a six-speed manual transmission. Unlike the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo, the Hyundai Elite i20 still does not get an automatic transmission option.
