UM Motorcycles earlier revealed that two variants of the UM Renegade Commando will be presented at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida in February. Then, Mr. Juan Villegas, the Global Director for Business Development, UM International LLC, told IndianAutosBlog that the company has planned to launch three models in India every year with an interval of around six months between the subsequent launches.
Now the brand has confirmed that the third model to be put on show at the Auto Expo will be the UM Renegade Sport S, and that it will be their first model to launch in India. The Sport S was recently showcased at 2015 EICMA in Milan. It has a subtle resemblance to the Suzuki Intruder M1800R.
The UM Renegade Sport S is powered by a 279 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with a fuel injection system, that produces 26.6 PS of maximum power at 8,600 rpm and 22.76 Nm of peak torque at 6,300 rpm. The motor is offered with a six-speed gearbox.
