Likely to be a niche product imported via the CBU route.
According to Business Standard, Jaguar Land Rover India will launch the Range Rover Evoque convertible in India in 2016. It could be unveiled at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016 in February.
Making its world premiere at last month’s Los Angeles Auto Show, the Evoque Convertible adopts a soft-top power-operated roof that folds down completely in 18 seconds at max speeds of up to 48 km/h.
Otherwise, it’s identical to the facelifted 2016 Range Rover Evoque that is already available for sale in India. It gets optional LED headlamps with the new DRL design, updated bumpers and new LED taillamps. The convertible gets an exclusive moulded rear spoiler on the chopped tailgate.
Like the Audi A3 Cabriolet, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible is likely to be a niche product imported via the CBU route. It could pack the 2.0-liter Ingenium diesel engines that is available with 150 PS and 180 PS (top-end Dynamic variant), or the 2.0-liter Si4 engine with 240 PS, all paired to a 9-speed ZF gearbox and an AWD system with Terrain Response.
