New Ford Endeavour to launch in India on January 19 - Report

Could be launched with two engine options.

Ford India today confirmed that it will launch the new Ford Endeavour in January. Reports online claim that the new Ford Endeavour will be launched in India on January 19. The company has started training its dealership sales and service personnel for the launch.

The new Ford Endeavour would be available in manual and automatic transmission versions, with 2 engine options.

The new Endeavour features a revamped design that sees it getting more rounded in shape. The styling makeover sees it getting a catchy chrome grille, projector head lamps, rectangular fog lamps, bumpers with scuff plates extending as silver trims, ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators, side steps, contrast roof rails, wraparound tail lamps, a roof-mounted spoiler, and alloy wheels. The interior is also comprehensively revised with the Ford SYNC 2 system and a new Terrain Management System.

The SUV will be offered with the choice of two TDCi diesel engines - a 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine and a 3.2-litre five-cylinder motor. The former will be available as two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations with optional automatic transmission, and the latter will only come with four-wheel drive and an automatic transmission.

With the 2016 Toyota Fortuner's launch ruled out for another year, the new Endeavour will compete with a set of old cars like the current Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, SsangYong Rexton, Hyundai Santa Fe and the Isuzu MU-7. The only recent launch in this segment is the Chevrolet Trailblazer that was introduced in October.
