Business Standard reports that Mahindra & Mahindra will launch the electric versions of the Verito sedan and the Maxximo LCV by February 2016.
Unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo, the electric variant of the Mahindra Verito would be priced higher than its diesel version. At the 2014 Expo, the company showcased the electric model that was based on the Verito facelift. At the upcoming show the company is expected to launch the Verito EV.
The Maxximo EV was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. It has a powertrain that comprises of a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor), that produces 20 hp and 62 Nm. The output is sent to the wheels through a transaxle with 2 forward speeds.

Both vehicles are driven by derivatives of the electric powertrain that is featured on the Mahindra e2o electric car. They are powered by lithium-ion battery packs. They were both developed by Mahindra Reva. According to the report, the Verito EV could target cab operators.
