Will go on sale in Russia in late 2016.
The crossover version of the recently revealed Lada XRay hatchback leaked in patent images last week. Based on the leak, IAB's in-house automotive illustrator, Shoeb R Kalania, has created a rendering previewing the production Lada XRay Cross in near-production guise.
As the Lada XRay is based on the Renault Sandero (Renault/Dacia M0) platform, the Lada XRay will also be based on the same. The crossover was previewed by the Lada XRay Concept 2 at the 2014 Moscow Moscow International Auto Salon. As seen in the rendering, it gets its distinctiveness with a more aggressive front bumper, black plastic cladding running through the sides and black roof bars.
The crossover version would stand taller than the hatchback version and have all-wheel drive system, probably reserved for top-end grades.
The all-wheel drive system should be the same as the one offered in the Renault Duster. The engine options will likely include a Renault-sourced 114 hp 1.6-litre petrol and a 123 hp 1.8-litre petrol engine developed by AvtoVAZ. Transmission choices should include 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual.
