Is sold alongside the version it replaces.
Shanghai GM had showcased the second gen Chevrolet Cruze sedan at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show held in April. The car is sold over there along with its previous version, that goes by the name Cruze Classic. It went on sale in the Chinese market August 2014.
The second gen Cruze world premiere in China in 2014. It has a sporty exterior that is made more stylish by using an intelligent mix of chrome and sharp creases. The front has a two-portion grille outlined in chrome and flanked by sleek headlights. The lower section houses the LED DRLs and fog lamps enclosed in chrome as well. The rear is even more appealing with an upswept character line adorning the rear fenders, subtle bootlid spoiler and redesigned tail lights embellished with chrome elements.
The Cruze has dimensions of 4,567 mm, 1,786 mm and 1,454 mm in length, width and height respectively. It offers an additional knee room of 25 mm for the rear seat passengers compared to the Classic variant.
The interior looks sporty as well with a dual-tone theme. Apart from the seats, leather is used on the dashboard, steering wheel and door pads. Like the exterior, chrome accents are seen embellishing several places inside the cabin. Infotainment needs are taken care of by the MyLink 2.0 system accessed through the 8.0-inch touchscreen on the dashboard. The car comes with Active Park Assist and Side Blind Zone alert for added safety.
Power for the base version of the Cruze comes from a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine making 112 hp and 146 Nm of peak torque mated to a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. There is another more powerful direct-injected 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine with outputs of 148 hp and 235 Nm, available with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG transmission.
