The Mazda 6 is the automakers flagship sedan model.
The Mazda 6 facelift that was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, was showcased at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show in April. The car is sold in China alongside the first- and second- generation. It is manufactured and sold by the FAW-Mazda joint venture.
Mazda has given its flagship model a refresh, lending it a stronger road presence. The grille has been redesigned for a bolder look at the front. Moving to the sides, the 19-inch aluminum wheels now sport a darker finish with the rear differentiated by the revised LED signature of the combination lamps for a sharper appearance. The Mazda 6 measures 4,895 mm, 1,840 mm, 1,450 mm and 2,830 mm in length, width, height and wheelbase respectively.
Coming to the interior, there are revisions made to the instrument panel and console; better quality materials have been used and focus was on reducing gaps between parts leading to a unified appearance. The interior can be optioned in either cloth fabric or leather; with the Mazda Connect car connectivity system equipped to take care of all infotainment needs.
The 2016 Mazda 6 can be had with either a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 158 hp/202 Nm of torque or a bigger 2.5-liter unit capable of 192 hp/252 Nm. Gearbox options are a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
