Production model likely to be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo.
Motoroids reports that they have new details on Tata's upcoming sub-4m SUV, which was previewed to the world as the Tata Nexon concept. What could be Tata's smallest SUV till date, the production-spec Nexon is expected to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 in Noida.
According to their report, the Tata Nexon will feature a floating roof with black pillars similar to the Range Rover Evoque and an "aggressively squat stance" with chrome embellishments like chrome accents on the window sills. Apparently, Tata will offer a range of customizable options such as contrasting colour combinations for roof and body along with body kits for better personalization.
As for exterior design, the production-spec model will draw most of its styling cues from the Tata Nexon concept, and is expected to the sharpest design from Tata yet. Unlike the EcoSport and TUV300, the Nexon will, reportedly, not have its spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, but instead it will be stowed under the floor.
Inside, the Nexon is speculated to borrow design cues from Land Rover products. It will feature a high-positioned central floating panel housing a stubby manual shifter stick and a new generation Harman infotainment system with a freestanding touchscreen unit. Tata is also rumored to cram two extra seats at the rear of the Nexon to appeal to larger families.

Based on the Tata Bolt and Zest, the Nexon will offer an updated version of 1.2 liter Revotron turbo petrol engine, while diesel power comes from the familiar 1.3 liter Multijet engine. An F-Tronic AMT could be available for the latter option, while a 5-speed manual is likely to be standard across both variants.
