The Ignis measures 3,700 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width, and 1,595 mm in height. The display car was powered by a 1.25-liter DualJet engine, paired to a CVT and a 4WD system. It also featured the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) start-stop system and brake energy recuperation for increased fuel economy.
Billed as Suzuki's entry into the compact crossover market, the Ignis takes its design inspiration from the concept iM-4 which made its premiere at this year's Geneva Motor Show. The interior design also marks a departure for Suzuki, with a free-standing touchscreen display, a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, and a new layout for the automatic climate control system.
Based on the Ignis, Suzuki also displayed the rugged Ignis Trail Concept, with larger wheels, contrasting colors and a different color scheme for the interior.

Sources say that the Ignis is on Maruti's radar for a launch around 2017. In the Indian market, the Ignis will be positioned a step below Maruti's forthcoming 'YBA' sub-4 meter SUV.
