Will be brought into India via the CBU route.
Overdrive appears to have confirmation that the new Nissan X-Trail will launch in India at the Auto Expo 2016, despite many reports claiming that it will arrive before the end of this year.
The third generation Nissan X-Trail was first revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and its styling draws cues from Nissan’s current design philosophy. It measures 4,640 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width, 1,720 mm in height and sports a wheelbase of 2,705 mm.
The new X-Trail rides on Renault-Nissan’s Common Module Family (CMF) architecture, and will be one of the first products in India to ride on the platform. It offers 7-seats (5+2 seating) and 550 litres of boot space with the third row of seats folded down.
Being a niche offering, it could be fully equipped with features like electrically adjustable seats, Active Engine Brake, Active Traction Control and Active Ride Control, LED projector headlamps and DRLs, cruise control, Around View Monitor, dual-zone climate control system, 7-inch Nissan Connect infotainment system, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, 4 airbags and 18-inch alloy wheels.
In global markets, the X-Trail has a 2.0 liter petrol engine matched to a manual transmission or a CVT or a 2.5 liter petrol engine matched to a CVT. For India, it could pack a 1.6-litre diesel motor which makes 130 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT gearbox.
