One of the manufacturing sites is the Tata-FCA JV's Ranjangaon plant.
The upcoming Jeep Compact SUV has been spotted testing by spy photographers, giving a better look at the final design of the Jeep Patriot and Compass replacement.
The Jeep Compact SUV will feature an exterior styling that heads in the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s direction, sporting a refined and modern styling. Although not seen in the spyshot, it will certainly have Jeep’s iconic seven slot grille flanked by small headlamps, and a clamshell hood.
Like most Jeeps, it rides at a high ground clearance, and could get black plastic cladding for better protection over off-road trails. The rear-end is slightly raked to the front, and appears to have wrap-around taillamps and a roof spoiler.
The Jeep Compact SUV will, reportedly, be based on an extended version of the Jeep Renegade’s Small Wide 4×4 platform. The engine lineup may include a 2.4-liter Tigershark and 2.0-liter MultiAir turbo engines as the rumored options. Both will be offered with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, and could feature the same 4×4 system from the boxy Renegade as an optional feature.
Fiat India has confirmed in its business plan that a Jeep Compact SUV will be manufactured at Fiat-Tata JV’s plant in Ranjangaon. Media reports say that the Jeep C-SUV could also be exported to RHD markets like Australia, South Africa and the U.K.
