Expected to arrive in dealerships in February 2016.
Following the unveil of the front-end, new images of the Fiat Toro testing in Brazil have surfaced online, courtesy of Autos segredos reader John Martini.
It’s unclear as to why the whole pick-up is camouflaged, despite the fact that the company has already revealed the front and side profile of the final design, while previous spyshots have uncovered the rear and interior. It has sleek pilot lamps separated from main headlamps that flow into the dual-slat chrome grille. The foglamps have chrome-trimmed enclosures in higher trims, while the lower bumper has a silver skid plate.
The test unit appears to feature alloy rims from the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, which is unlikely to be included in the options list. Higher trims will also get a pair of large roof rails and ORVMs with turn indicators.
Engine lineup includes two engines: a 1.8 16v E-Torq Flex petrol engine and 2.0 16v Multijet turbodiesel. The flex-fuel option delivers 138 bhp and is paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the turbodiesel unit is capable of 170 bhp through a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic gearbox. A 4×4 drivetrain is only available in the 2.0L turbodiesel variant.
Mass production of the Fiat Toro has already begun at the company’s factory in Pernambuco, Brazil, and is expected to arrive at dealerships in February 2016.
