Inspired by the TVS Draken X21 concept.
A prototype of the next-generation TVS Apache has been snapped up-close by a Motoroids reader, Anoop Radhakrishnan. The spyshots reveal the model's instrument cluster which appears to be the production version.
The all-digital instrument console on the 2016 Apache shows the vehicle speed, engine speed, trip reading, odo reading, time, gear engaged, service reminder and the fuel level; while the standard indication lights for the turn indicators, high beam and the like are placed just beneath the LCD screen. It is reported that an indication light for ABS is also present in the instrument cluster, but the test mule does not have ABS-compliant disc rotors suggesting that the safety feature will not be offered as standard.
The powertrain details of the upcoming Apache is still unclear. The TVS Draken X21 concept was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo with a 250 cc single-cylinder engine. The spied prototype has a single-cylinder air-cooled engine which is reported to have a 200 cc displacement.
