Could debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
While the 2016 Renault Megane made its debut at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt, there was no sign of the estate version, until now. If we're to believe the unnamed source, it appears that the Renault Megane Estate has leaked online, revealing the final exterior design.
Reports suggest that the new Megane Estate will not exceed 4.5 meters in overall length, making it a bit shorter than the 4.562 meter long VW Golf Estate. The Megane Estate also competes with hatchback-based estates like the Peugeot 308 SW and the Citroen C4 Tourer.
The Megane Estate will borrow the engine lineup from the regular Megane hatchback, which includes three dCi diesels with 90 hp, 110 hp or 130 hp, and three TCe petrol options with outputs of 100, 130 or 205hp. A manual gearbox is available in the lower variants, while a six-speed EDC dual-clutch automatic is available with the dCi 110, and a 7-speed EDC automatic for the TCe 130 and TCe 205.
The interior is also likely to remain identical to the Megane hatchback, save for the extended boot volume. It will feature an 8.7-inch R-Link 2 touchscreen, a large tachometer at the center with a digital speedometer sitting inside it. The buttons in the cabin have also been reduced, as most of the functions are now integrated into the infotainment touchscreen.
