Confirmed to debut at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show.
OtoTeknik has detailed the engine lineup of the 2016 Mercedes E Class, which will make its world debut at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show in January.
According to their report, the new E Class will feature a new range of modular four - and six-cylinder petrol engines available in a wide range of power outputs. The next generation 2.0-liter four cylinder unit (OM 654) will produce 184 hp in E200, 211 hp in E250 and 245 hp in the E 300 trim.
The in-line six cylinder turbo engine will have 333 hp in the E400 variant and 367 hp in the E450 AMG Sport. The range topping E 63 AMG will get a revised 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine.
Like the petrol lineup, the 2016 E Class will also have a new diesel lineup that includes four- and six-cylinder engines. Power outputs available are 150 hp, 194 hp and 231 hp, while the six cylinder turbodiesel produces 260 hp, reportedly.

Transmission options include a 6-speed manual (diesel lineup only) or the new 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic gearbox. The E Class will feature a 48 volt generator, so as to improve the fuel efficiency and lower emissions. A 4MATIC AWD option will be available after the initial launch phase early next year.
