To be the second monocoque product by Mahindra.
The Mahindra S101 (XUV100) was caught testing in Nashik by IAB reader Prashant Hyalij. The B-segment car is expected to launch within this fiscal, at a starting price of around INR 4 lakhs, ex-Showroom.
The new spyshots reveal the 'claw-like' elements on the grille, the large reflector-assembly of the halogen headlamp, an edgy foglamp trim at the lower portion of the bumper, wheel caps with a spiral-like design, a sizable taillight cluster, blackened door pillars, roof rails, a rear wiper, and a chunky roof spoiler.
The Mahindra XUV100 (as it is expected to be named), will be powered by an all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine which is reported to be jointly developed with SsangYong. It will also feature a diesel version, which could be powered by the mHawk 80 three-cylinder motor that is seen on the Mahindra TUV300. These engines are expected with manual and automated-manual transmissions, with the drive going to the front wheels.
Safety features like ABS, EBD and dual airbags are expected to be offered at least on the top-end variant.
