India-spec Chevrolet Spin testing in Bangalore – Spied
Aravind Jayachandran, It goes without saying that I'm a huge petrolhead and can apparently convert all my driving emotions into words you can read.
Will launch in India in 2017.
The Chevrolet Spin MPV has been caught testing in Bangalore, where GM India’s R&D center is located. Despite being unveiled at an event on July 29, 2015, the test mule sports an exterior camouflage wrap to keep the general public guessing.
The exterior comes with Chevrolet’s dual front grille, bug-eyed headlamps, body-colored bumper with round fog lamps, wrap-around tail-lamps and a large tailgate for boot access. It also sports roof rails for extra practicality.
The Chevrolet Spin will be GM’s India third offering in the MPV space. It measures 4.36 meters in length, 1.73 meters in width, 1.68 meters in height and has a ground clearance of 191 mm. It has a wheelbase spanning 2.52 meters and weighs 1,277 kg.
The 2+3+2 MPV has a simple interior design that is equipped with a music system supporting USB, AUX and Bluetooth telephony, and steering-mounted buttons. The seats are upholstered in fabric, and the cabin is finished in a dual tone beige and brown color combination.
The Chevrolet Spin is expected to be powered by a 1.3-liter diesel engine (Fiat-sourced MultiJet engine) that produces 75 PS at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm from 1,750 – 2,500 rpm, and is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
