Live images of the facelifted 2016 Subaru Forester from a private showcase have emerged online, following its digital reveal on October 6. The SUV makes its global debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show which starts on 28 October.
Changes in the facelifted Subaru Forester are minimal. It comes with an updated headlight clusters with LED lighting, a sportier front bumper, large foglamp enclosures and new alloy wheel designs. The S-Limited variant has a more aggressive front fascia featuring a gaping radiator grille, faux intake slashes on either side of the bumper, chrome foglamp bezels and redesigned taillights.
Inside, changes are limited to a new three-spoke steering wheel design with mounted buttons, an updated instrument cluster, and revised trim options for the dashboard. Opting for the "Eyesight" safety package adds features like Pre-Collision Braking System, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure with Sway Warning.
Under the hood, the lower variants are powered by a 2.0-liter N/A 4-cylinder DOHC boxer engine, while higher variant pack the same engine, but with direct injection and turbocharging. Transmission options include a 6-speed MT or a Lineartronic CVT, while a symmetrical AWD system is standard on all variants.
