No cosmetic changes observed.
These images, snapped by TeamBHP member PratikPatel, are those of the 2016 model year Ford EcoSport which is expected to have its market launch shortly.
Speaking to Indian Autos Blog at a recent event, Ford India's president and managing director, Mr. Nigel Harris, said that the launch of the updated EcoSport was "not too far away". He said prospective buyers wouldn't need to wait until Christmas to buy it.
The only cosmetic change observed on the 2016 EcoSport is the new color, termed 'Golden Bronze' in Ford's language. However, changes will be more than skin deep as the 2016 EcoSport is expected with updated mechanicals.
The 2016 EcoSport TDCi diesel, which currently develops 91 PS and 204 Nm of torque, will be retuned to produce 100 PS and 215 Nm of torque, like in the new Figo and Aspire. Aside from the power and torque upgrade, the 2016 EcoSport will also benefit from a host of feature additions.
The top-end Titanium variant is reported to receive automatic headlights and wipers, a 4-inch color display for the SYNC entertainment system and a reverse camera, while entry level variants will receive a driver airbag as standard, if not dual front airbags. The 2016 EcoSport will continue to be offered with the 1.5-liter Ti-VCT petrol and the 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engines.
