2015 Hero Splendor+ to be launched with ‘power start’ – Spied
Ashwin Ram N P, Ashwin is a guy with a slightly unorthodox perception of everything. His struggle to choose a career path, between art and automotive engineering, has landed him in the field of auto journalism, where he has paved way for himself to practise both.
No other change expected.
The 2015 Hero Splendor+ was snapped during its official photo shoot at Magarpatta’s IT zone in Pune. The new model gets the ‘power start’ feature, likely on a new, higher version, as the base variant will retain the kick-start for a price advantage. No other changes are spotted on the 2015 model.
However, with the addition of self-starter, the kerb weight of the motorcycle would increase from the present value of 109 kg. The 12 V 2.5 Ah lead-acid battery would also be replaced with one that has a higher amperage. The 12 V 3 Ah maintenance free battery used on the Hero Splendor Pro is the most likely candidate for the 2015 Splendor+.
The new Hero Splendor+ would continue with the 97.2 cc air-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine with OHC, producing 6.15 kW (8.36 PS) at 8,000 rpm and 0.82 Kg-m (8.05 Nm) at 5,000 rpm. The motor is mated to a 4-speed gearbox, no changes here.
Expect the market launch of the new Splendor+ in the coming days.
