Powered by a detuned version of AMG's 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8.
The 2015 Mercedes G 500 V8 is currently being showcased at the 66th Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA). The update was carried out early this year.
The new Mercedes G 500 is powered by an optimized version of the Euro VI, 4.0-litre, V8, Biturbo engine, that produces 422 hp (310 kW) at 5,250 to 5,500 rpm and 610 Nm at 2,250 to 4,750 rpm. The SUV has a new suspension system and a more sensitive ESP for improved stability and safety, as the company states. The off-roader is available, optionally, with a new adaptive damping system with two modes - Sport and Comfort.
The Mercedes G 350d, G 500 and AMG G 63 are installed with ECO start/stop function as standard. It reduces the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by shutting down the engine when the vehicle is at rest.
The visual appeal of the Mercedes G500 has also been enhanced, with respect to exterior and interior. Both, the Mercedes G 500 and the G 350d sport revised bumpers and new alloy wheel designs.
Inside, both variants feature a conventional instrument cluster with a 11.4 cm multifunction display and redesigned dials & pointers, and an updated COMAND software running on the non-toich free-standing central display
