This is the first model to get the AMG Sport model.
Mercedes-Benz has showcased the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Sport Coupe at the 2015 Chengdu Motor Show.
The crossover made its world debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January this year and is the first model to get the AMG Sport variant. The car carries forward the design language that is seen on the MFA models. It has a bold single-slat grille flanked by curvy LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The lower portion gets a wide radiator grille, large air intakes and a shiny black front splitter.
The rear end has a similar design to that of the AMG-GT. The highlight of the design is the high SUV-ish stance and the sloping roofline that lends it a smooth crossover look.
Inside, the dashboard gets the silver shadow frame that runs along its entire length. Then there is the AMG three-spoke steering wheel wrapped in black Nappa leather and AMG sport seats with contrasting red stitching. The instrument cluster is a two-pod unit besides which is seen the AC vents and ensconced between them is the COMAND infotainment system.
The GLE 450 AMG Sport is powered by a V6 biturbo petrol engine producing 367 hp and 520 Nm of torque. Transmission of power to all the wheels courtesy of the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system is the 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.
