In a behind-the-scenes 'making of' video of the commercial for the Mahindra TUV300, the compact SUV reveals itself in a couple of frames, showing its 'battle tank' inspired design and the characteristic 5-slat grille.

The market launch of the TUV300 takes place on September 10, though dealers have started accepting bookings against a payment of INR 20,000.
Power for the TUV300 will come from a 1.5-liter three-cylinder mHawk 80 diesel engine, which according to sources will develop 80 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 5-speed manual or automated manual transmission with the drive going to the rear wheels. A 4WD variant is possible, but will not be introduced immediately Mahindra confirmed.
The ladder-on-frame, sub-4 meter SUV will feature seating for 7 occupants by way of side-facing jump seats at the rear, similar to the Quanto. Spyshots of the interior have also revealed a four-spoke multi-function steering wheel, manual AC, chrome highlights for the dials, power windows positioned near the hand-brake and a dual-tone black and beige color theme.

According to reports, three variants of the TUV300 will be available - T4, T6 and T8 - with the top-end presumably adding dual front airbags and ABS in addition to the list of the above mentioned features.
