Front & rear of the Brazilian Fiat Toro pick-up truck photographed – Spied

Riza

Riza Rizvi, Hopelessly in love with everything on four wheels. Interested in cars since my formative years, with an unhealthy affinity for exotics and tuners. Fondness for the open road with high-octane machinery for company!

Expected to be launched by early 2016.

The upcoming Fiat Toro pick-up has been clicked completely undisguised at what looks like the production line of the Fiat Brazil’s Goiana, Pernambuco plant. The photos have been doing the rounds in various WhatsApp groups.

The pickup draws design inspiration from the Fiat FCC4 Concept unveiled last year.

From the pictures, it is clear that the pickup has drawn design inspiration from the FCC4 Concept that was showcased at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show. This will be Fiat’s second pickup after the Palio-based Fiat Strada, and will be positioned above the former with a length of nearly 5 meters and a wheelbase of 2.80 meters.

The front gets a wide grille with twin chrome slats. The pilot lamps have a swept-back design while the fog lamp housing on the bumper gets chrome lining placed next to the silver-finished skid plate. The sides get square wheel arches, dual-tone alloys and rugged-looking roof rails, while the rear features elongated tail lamps and a low loading lip.

The Toro will be produced alongside the Jeep Renegade at the Goiana plant.

The Toro will be produced alongside the Jeep Renegade at the plant and is likely to share some components with it. It could get a 4×4 Selec-Terrain system on some variants, which can adapt the power delivery to suit different terrains.

Under the hood, the pickup truck is likely to pack a 2.0-liter Multijet turbodiesel engine or a 1.8-liter E.torQ flex engine with the choice of manual or automatic transmissions. The Toro is expected to be launched by the end of this year or early next year in Brazil, with a payload rating between 650 kg – 1,000 kg.
