Could launch in this fiscal.
Mahindra is currently working on a facelift for the Mahindra Quanto, which is expected to launch in this fiscal. Judging by the spyshots and reports, it appears to be quite a substantial update for the sub-4m crossover.
Our rendering artist, Shoeb R Kalania, has worked on the facelifted 2016 Mahindra Quanto, based on the said spyshots. It has a re-designed front-end, featuring new headlamps, LED pilot lamps, hood intake, vertically slat grille, and a new bumper design with round foglamps and mesh radiator intake. If the real deal is going to look close to our render, it further distances itself from the bigger Mahindra Xylo.
Reports suggest that the facelifted Quanto will be styled along the lines of an SUV for better road presence. It is rumored to be christened as the Mahindra ‘Canto’ for a new identity in the market. Where the TUV300 would be the weapon of choice for the company in the compact SUV segment, the Quanto would play the supporting role with conservative target volumes.

The Mahindra Quanto could borrow the mHawk 80 1.5-liter three cylinder diesel engine from the Mahindra TUV300, which produces 84 hp and 230 Nm of torque in the latter. It is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a 5-speed AMT, previewed at the Auto Expo last year as the Quanto autoSHIFT, would also be available on some variants.
