Now in its sixth generation, the 2016 Elantra is billed to be an evolution over its predecessor, with a modern design favoring aerodynamics (Hyundai claims the new Elantra is the most aerodynamic car in its class with a Cd of only 0.27), a toughened body, superior NVH levels and a more engaging drive.
As reported earlier, 53 percent of the 2016 Elantra's body is made of AHSS (Advanced High Strength Steel), while parts like the wipers and wheel wells were specifically redesigned to reduce wind noise.

The 2016 Elantra will be offered in its home market with three engines - two petrol and one diesel. The diesel engine, a 1.6-liter CRDi, is optionally available with a new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission while the 1.6-liter GDi and 2.0-liter MPi petrols can be had with 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes.

While it will launch in Korea this year, and key global markets next year, an Indian introduction would take place in late-2016 or in early-2017.
