BMW has quietly announced the launch of the facelifted BMW 1 Series in India. It is only available in the 118d Sportline variant, and is priced at INR 29.9 Lakhs (ex-showroom Thane).
Unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the 2016 BMW 1 Series has slightly grown taller and longer now measuring 4329mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1440mm in height. It gets a new pair of Bi-Xenon headlamps, bigger grille and a re-profiled lower fascia. While the sides remain largely identical, the rear-end features larger “L-shaped” taillamps and twin exhaust pipes.
Inside, the new 1 Series facelift comes with updated upholstery options, chrome surrounds for the buttons and knobs near the iDrive controller, and matte silver accents. A single-zone automatic climate control is standard, while a dual-zone system is offered as optional. As for the iDrive infotainment system, the 1 Series comes with a 6.5-inch free-standing display as standard.
The only engine option available is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine under the hood of the 2016 BMW. It delivers 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque, through an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox, to the rear wheels.
