The Volkswagen Polo has turned 40 this year and the company is celebrating the occasion by building a new variant.
Volkswagen has launched the “VW Polo Original” special edition to commemorate the 40th anniversary, a limited edition that will be sold only in Germany, and 1,000 units of which will ever be built. Launched on the five-door model, it will be available in six variants.
This edition will be offered in an exclusive 'Honey Orange' metallic paint among other choices. The car will get LED headlights, smoked taillights, black radiator grille, body-coloured side mirrors and new 16-inch wheels. The ‘Original’ lettering is marked on the front fender and on the door sills.
The interior also sees minor revisions with the seats getting a dual-tone plaid upholstery in black and orange with faux leather side bolsters, and the pedals made in aluminium. The Polo special edition gets equipment like automatic climate control, radar-based City Emergency Braking and a rearview camera.
