Tata Prima 4928.S, Tata Ultra 1012 - GIIAS 2015

Tata Prima 4928.S is powered by a 6700 cc Cummins diesel engine.

At the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (2015 GIIAS), PT. Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia (TMDI) decided to showcase their range of commercial vehicles, which include the Tata 4928.S 6x4 and the Tata Ultra 1012.

Tata Motors showcased the Tata Prima 4928.S tractor-trailer at the 2015 GIIAS, as part of the company's strategy of focusing on commercial products in this fiscal year.

The Tata Prima 4928.S is powered by a 6700 cc Cummins diesel engine, which produces 267 hp and 970 Nm of torque. It is paired to a ZF 9-speed gearbox, which sends torque to four of the six wheels. Top speed of the Tata Prima 4928.S is 77 km/h.

The Tata Prima is the company’s ‘World-Smart truck’, which gets cab design from Italy, engine technology from the USA and Europe, gearbox expertise from US and India, chassis frame construction from Mexico, sheet metal dies from Japan and Korea, which are all combined with Swedish precision on a robotic weld line.

Tata Ultra 1012:

Tata showcased the range-topping Tata Ultra 1012 at the 2015 GIIAS. It is based on the Ultra platform initially developed for the smaller bus range. It is a rolled frame made of high strength steel and high tensile strength steel, and provides for multiple wheelbase options.

Powering the Ultra is a Tata 497 TCIC common rail diesel engine that develops 125 PS at 2,400 rpm and peak torque of 400 Nm between 1,300 and 1,800 rpm, and is paired to a GB 550 6-speed gearbox. The Ultra is equipped with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes for the rear wheels.

As for equipment, it features a multi-display electronic cluster and rear LED taillights as standard.
