Tata Motors unveiled the Tata Hexa at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015 and in June, the newly appointed president of the company said that the SUV would be launched by the end of the year. Last week, it was reported that the showroom version of the Hexa would be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo.

Last week, a test mule bearing a close resemblance to Tata Hexa was spied by Powerdrift on the Mumbai - Pune Expressway. This marks the first time that the car has been caught on test.

Though camouflaged completely, it is evident that the design of the Hexa would be applied to the production model in most places such as flat bonnet, honeycomb mesh grille and five-spoke alloy wheels. The large door mirrors have enclosed indicators.

The production version is also likely to have the concept's projector lights, brushed aluminum finish on the bumpers, body kit, and blackened pillars.

The interior, based on the contents of the concept car, could get six captain chairs, a Bolt-inspired steering wheel, air con vents for the second and third row, and a new center console.
